first vine is a Washington DC wine importer and retailer.  We carry a unique and highly edited selection of quality wines not available elsewhere in the Washington DC area.

first vine is also Tom Natan and Dare Wenzler: wine lovers, avid chefs and above all bon vivants.  This is their blog.

We try to post bi-weekly, and include a recipe and a wine pairing in addition to information about wine and food.  Maybe a rave about a new place we’ve tried in the Washington, DC area.

And then there’s the occasional rant:  e-commerce, politics, the environment… we hope you’ll enjoy it.
